At Prinos Farm&Deli we are committed to helping our clients eat well, stocking an extensive selection of premium ingredients and foods. And our Chef George is also on hand, sharing some of his favourite recipes that might inspire you to try new things in the kitchen. This month its all about seafood, combining tasty and nutritious fish, with deliciously creamy and flavourful risotto. Made using ingredients from our stores in Nicosia and Larnaca, this month’s Prinos recipe is a delicious Sea Bass Risotto, with spinach and grated parmesan.

The key ingredient in this recipe is the sea bass. A delicious and versatile fish, sea bass not only delights the taste buds with its subtle, fresh flavour, but also packs a punch when it comes to health benefits. Rich in high-quality protein, sea bass contributes to muscle growth and repair. It is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, promoting heart health by reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and inflammation. Additionally, sea bass provides essential nutrients like vitamin B12, selenium and iodine, supporting proper nerve function, thyroid health and immune system strength.

The spinach in this dish also contributes abundance of health benefits, making this a highly nutritional meal option. Often hailed as a nutritional powerhouse, spinach is packed with essential nutrients such as iron, folate and vitamins A, C, and K. This versatile leafy green supports various bodily functions. Its iron content is beneficial for maintaining healthy blood and preventing fatigue, while folate is crucial for cell division and DNA synthesis. The high levels of antioxidants, including beta-carotene and lutein, contribute to eye health and protect against oxidative stress. Furthermore, spinach’s fibre content aids in digestion and promotes a feeling of fullness.

And Chef George has elevated these two ingredients, combining them with the culinary gem that is risotto rice. Celebrated for its versatility and delectable texture, risotto offers a delightful addition to your gastronomic repertoire. Prized for its ability to absorb flavours and create a creamy consistency, risotto makes the perfect canvas to be served alongside the fish. This high-quality rice elevates the recipe, providing a great source of carbohydrates and a firm yet creamy texture.
